Transportation Resources

Campus and community resources to help students have access to transportation. 

Student parking will be free during Fall 2023 semester. Parking permits will NOT be required for student parking spaces.

Free assistance is available. Meet with the Basic Needs Coordinator: schedule an appointment. 

Tuolumne County Transit Bus Service 

Tuolumne County Transit is the public transportation system for Tuolumne County. Currently, bus fare is free of charge. Access the  Tuolumne Country Transit bus route schedule  to find out when and where the bus travels routinely.  Students who present their Student ID card can ride any route, any time for free.   
Tuolumne County Transit has a dial-your-ride service for travelers who need specific pick up and drop off times. Riders should call at least one day in advance to schedule their ride. Calaveras Connect

Calaveras Connect is the public transit system for Calaveras County. Students who present their Student ID card can ride any route, any time for free.   
Access the  Calaveras Connect bus route schedule  to find out when and where the bus travels routinely.   
Calaveras Connect has a Direct-Connect dial-a-ride service where  people can call the bus service and schedule a time to be picked up throughout the week. Riders should call t he bus by 3 pm the day before a person wishes to travel. A ride can be reserved up to 7 days in advance. The Direct-Connect dial-a-ride service can be scheduled by calling (209) 754-4450. Access the  map  to see availabilities for the Dial-a-Ride service.   

California's Low Cost Auto Insurance

California has a low cost auto insurance program (CLCA) for people who meet certain requirements.

If you meet the following requirements you may be elligible for low-cost auto insurance:

  • Have a current valid California driver's license
  • Own a vehicle valued at or under $25,000
  • Meet income eligibility guidelines (1 person maximum income $36,450 annually)
  • Are at least 16 years old
  • Have a 'good' driving record 

Example: For one person living in Tuolumne county who has not been licensed for over 3 years and is over age 18: annual premium for auto insurance may be $393.
