The Student Health and Wellness Center will have limited availability during the week of Monday March 20 through Friday March 24. For support with Mental Health Services, please call either (209) 588-5346 or (209) 588-5201. Basic Needs requests will be returned the week of March 27.

Columbia College Basic Needs Resources Hub

Columbia College now has a Basic Needs web page where you can access campus and community resources that are related to basic needs. Resources include housing, food, utilities, finances, clothing, transportation, medical, COVID, mental health, employment, child care, safety, legal, financial literacy, personal care, school supplies, and technology.

For Medi-Cal and other Anthem Blue Cross Members, LiveHealth offers access to doctors and other healthcare providers 24/7!

The Health and Wellness Center has take-home COVID-19 tests for students and staff. Tests can be found on the front desk inside the Pinyon building. Expiration dates show past due on boxes but have been extended.

HEALTH SERVICES OFFERS STUDENTS:
 
Mental Health Counselor: We have a licensed counselor offering free, private and confidential counseling appointments on campus to registered students. Appointments made by contacting the Health Services office at (209) 588-5346
Information on health insurance: including medi-cal, county insurance, affordable care act and student health insurance plans
Medications: Ibuprofen, acetaminophen, allergy meds, cough drops, hydrocortisone cream, antibiotic ointment, kleenex, Vit C and more over the counter medications are free to students at the health office or for 25 cents in campus vending machines located in Manzanita and Oak Pavilion. Certain medications unavailable while nursing services are not offered. 
Condoms: Condoms are free in the health office. More family planning services and supplies can be found at the local Tuolumne County Public Health Department through their Family PACT program. Call 533-7400 for more information.
Vending Machines: There are two vending machines on campus that offer over the counter medications and condoms for a quarter. They are located in the Oak Pavilion lobby and in the Tamarack Library in the gallery lobby.
Resting Bed: The health office has a room in the back with a place for students to lie down and take a short nap. When the nurse is not in, the resting room is not for students who are feeling ill. 
Health Information: Health Services has a wealth of free information on a variety of health topics.
Smoking Cessation: Stop-Smoking kits are available for students. 

 

*When nursing services are available:
Evaluation of minor illness and injuries:  We provide first aid for our campus community and evaluation of illnesses in the office or via secure zoom. If you need more than we offer on campus, we can refer you to a place in the community. We can help you make appointments, find addresses and phone numbers, help to get you where you need to go.
Tuberculosis Skin Testing: Staff and students may find they need a tuberculosis (tb) skin test. These are offered Monday thru Wednesdays. Please plan to return two days after the initial test for the results to be read.
