Federal Work Study
Congratulations! You are eligible to participate in the Federal Work-Study Program (FWS).
The Federal Work Study program provides part-time employment for students who demonstrate financial need. Students begin work after an official agreement is on file with the Financial Aid Office and may not work more than 20 hours per week.
Students must be enrolled at least half-time (6 units or more) to be eligible to work under this program. Pay is currently $15.00 per hour for Fall 2022. Starting January 1st, pay will increase to $15.50.
Once you receive the separate email regarding FWS to your student assigned email, follow these instructions:
-
View jobs on the Financial Aid website
-
Contact the department you are interested in working for
-
If you are hired, have your supervisor complete the FWS Interest Form and bring that form to the Financial Aid Office where you will be given the hiring packet.
**Students who are Disqualified due to substandard GPA and/or Pace Rate and have to file an Appeal are not eligible for Federal Work Study. If a student is awarded Federal Work Study and then is Disqualified, the student is then NO longer eligible for Federal Work Study. For example; eligible one term (Fall) and then is Disqualified for the following term (Spring).
**Read our Satisfactory Academic Progress (SAP) policy to understand how to stay in good standing with Financial Aid.

CalFresh is a California financial aid program that helps students buy food and eat healthier. It won't affect your existing financial aid and you don't need your parent's tax return information to apply. Students who are awarded Federal Work Study may also qualify for Cal Fresh.
Who qualifies?
