Covid-19 Testing and Vaccine Verification Program

Effective January 10th 2022, all persons coming to Columbia College campus for classes, services or work are required to submit to COVID-19 testing.* Everyone will submit at least one initial baseline test. Frequency of testing after that will depend on your vaccine status, development of symptoms, exposure to positive cases and past COVID-19 infections within 90 days.

If you are taking online classes only, and do not access campus for any services, you do not need to submit to testing. A negative COVID-19 test recorded into the approved system is required on/by the first day any student or employee accesses campus for IN-PERSON classes or IN-PERSON services, starting January 10, 2022.

Rapid BD Veritor Antigen tests will be provided by the College to all students and employees at no charge. The test provided will be linked to a simple app on your phone for easy upload of your results. Our goal is to protect our students and employees while increasing in-person classes/services. Thank you for your help and understanding.

Steps to Campus Access & Testing Frequency

Vaccinated Individuals:

  • Verify your vaccination status: Check your Yosemite.edu email account for instructions on uploading your vaccination records. YCCD is offering up to a $500 incentive to all 6 unit or more students with a vaccination verification uploaded for spring 2022. See gocolumbia.edu/free for details and instructions will be sent to your student email.
  • Submit an initial negative antigen test not more than 24 hours prior to the first class or campus visit of the semester or a negative PCR test not more than 72-hours prior to the first class or campus visit of the semester to gain campus access clearance.
  • Test again if symptomatic or exposed to a person positive for COVID-19. Complete a COVID-19 notification form ASAP for isolation, quarantine and return to campus guidance from contact tracing staff. Form is found on main campus webpage under COVID-19 Info.

Unvaccinated Individuals:

  • Submit an initial negative antigen test not more than 24 hours prior to the first class or campus visit of the semester or a negative PCR test not more than 72 hours prior to the first class or campus visit of the semester to gain initial campus access clearance.
  • Each negative antigen or PCR test allows for 72 hours of campus access clearance. Retesting is required according to planned on-campus attendance. Retest directly before the 72-hour campus access clearance has expired and before accessing campus. For example, if a campus access clearance expires today and the individual plans to access campus tomorrow, they must retest today.
    • We encourage the use of the antigen home tests provided by the college, as these will be linked directly to the campus access clearance system.
  • If symptomatic, begin isolation and submit a COVID -19 notification form test ASAP for testing, isolation, quarantine, and return to campus guidance from contact tracing staff. The form for all COVID-19 notification is found on main campus webpage under COVID-19 Info.
  • If exposed to a positive COVID-19 case, submit a COVID -19 notification form ASAP for testing, quarantine and return to campus guidance from contact tracing staff. The form for all COVID-19 notification is found on main campus webpage under COVID-19 Info.

Individuals with a positive COVID-19 test within 90 days:

  • If remaining unvaccinated, regular testing to gain campus access clearance will commence the 91st day after testing positive; see guidance for unvaccinated and frequency of campus access for exact timing of retesting requirements.
  • If the individual becomes vaccinated, submit vaccine verification, then follow testing frequency of a vaccinated individual to gain campus access clearance.
  • Test again if symptomatic or exposed to a person positive for COVID-19. Complete a COVID-19 notification form ASAP for isolation, quarantine, and return to campus guidance from contact tracing staff.
