Ariel Walsh
(Head Coach)
Ariel Walsh joins the Claim Jumpers as the newest Head Women's Volleyball Coach! Coach Walsh is currently a Part-Time Faculty Member at Columbia College and is teaching Adaptive Physical Education for the Human Health and Performance Department. Originally from Modesto, CA and a former MJC alumni, Coach Walsh played 2 years of golf in Fall 2013 and Fall 2014 as well 1 year of tennis during her time at MJC, making it to state with each respective sport. In 2017, she transferred to Ottawa University in Surprise, AZ where she graduated with her Bachelor’s of Arts in Exercise Science. In Fall of 2019, Coach Walsh began her Masters of Kinesiology program at the University of Mary which is based in Bismarck, North Dakota. During her time at UMARY, she began a capstone project which entailed research on the Psychological Effects of Return to Play for athletes. Walsh graduated with her MS in Kinesiology, April 2021. In addition to teaching courses at Columbia, Coach Walsh also teaches in the online Masters of Kinesiology program at UMARY part-time. Shortly, after graduating with her Masters, she began her Doctorate of Education in Kinesiology May 2021, which is an online program that is based in St. Paul, Minnesota. Walsh is in the second year of her EdD program. Her research is focused on the psychological effects of athletes in order to implement mental health screening tools prior and during season for athletes to determine their risk for any mental health disorders barring an injury or just in general.

Kameryn Binder
(Assistant Coach)
Kameryn was raised in Tuolumne, CA and attended Summerville Elementary school. She started playing club volleyball in the 6th grade, where she began playing as an outside hitter. While attending Summerville High School she continued to play. In 2012, she graduated from Summerville and went on to play for Columbia College for two years. In her third year, while studying Fire Science at Columbia College, she was offered a position as the Assistant Coach for the Claim Jumpers Volleyball team. She intends to finish her degree in Emergency Medical Services, while continuing to help out with the volleyball program. She has enjoyed her opportunity to continue being a part of the Columbia College Volleyball program.
