Medi-Cal Insurance Information

Medi-Cal provides free or low-cost health care to those who qualify. Medi-Cal helps pay for visits to the doctor, hospital care, dental care, immunizations, pregnancy-related services, prescription drugs, laboratory, rehabilitative and emergency services, and more.    To qualify for Medi-Cal, participants must be income-eligible. Those whose income exceeds the limit may still qualify for reduced-cost insurance.  To apply online, visit the    BenefitsCal website   . Applicants will hear back within 45 days, or up to 90 days if applicant has a disability.     

For more information about Medi-Cal insurance, Tuolumne County residents may call Tuolumne County Health and Human Services at (209) 533-5711 or visit 20075 Cedar Road North in Sonora. The office is open 8 am to 4 pm Monday through Friday.   

For more information about Medi-Cal insurance, Calaveras County residents may call Calaveras County Health and Human Services at (209) 754-6448 or visit 509 East Saint Charles Street in San Andreas. The office is open 8 am to 5 pm Monday through Friday.   

Covered California Insurance Information

Covered California is California's insurance marketplace for people who do not receive insurance benefits from another source. Visit the   Covered California web page   to learn more and find out what plans you are eligible for. People can apply online, in person with a certified enroller, or by phone. LiveHealth Online 

LiveHealth Online provides doctors that are available 24/7 at no cost. This service is an extension of Anthem Blue Cross Medi-Cal. Members can schedule a virtual visit with doctors, therapists, psychologists, or psychiatrists. This service is for non-emergency conditions. Doctors can send prescriptions to the pharmacy for you, as well.   
Students can utilize the Columbia College Health Services office if they are in need of a device to meet with doctors on  LiveHealth

Tuolumne County Public Health

Tuolumne County Public Health offers a variety of services to the community. Services include flu shots, TB skin tests, child immunizations, pregnancy tests, and adult immunizations. The Public Health office is located at 20111 Cedar Road North in Sonora.     

Calaveras County Public Health

Calaveras County Public Health offers a variety of services to the community.
