A Message from the Foundation President
The President’s Message –
The Columbia College Foundation has been serving Columbia College for nearly 45 years! I feel so fortunate to assume the position of Foundation President at such a dynamic time. Standing on the sturdy footing of my predecessors, the Foundation’s assets now top $1.28 million and community and donor support is thriving. Contributions this past year are up 39% for the second year in a row.
We enjoy strong and vibrant partnerships in the community, making a difference throughout the college in programs such as Fire Science and Forestry & Natural Resources, Literature, Sciences, to the Debate Team, Geology, Music, and Drama. I am heartened by what our community support accomplishes! Thanks to such great work, in addition to program and classroom support, our students can buy textbooks, participate in a much needed field trip, apply for membership in their professional organizations, take required certification exams, learn how to use state-of-the-art drone technology to map forest health, or learn to build an electric car! They can cover lab fees, replace a lap top damaged in a house fire, pay for child care, attend a week of Shakespeare in Ashland, Oregon, or save money to transfer to a Nursing school or four-year college or University, and so much more.
On behalf of the Columbia College Foundation board, I thank you for your continued support and making the education of our community a priority. And on behalf of our many, many students whose lives have been enriched, an expression of gratitude to everyone who contributed to their cause. We all benefit from their success!
