Foundation President's Message
History and Goals of the Columbia College Foundation
Dear Community Members,
As the newly appointed interim president this year for Columbia College, I am honored to have the opportunity to serve such a well-developed and well-managed institution. Essential to the college’s on-going success is the college’s foundation. Over the past three decades, community colleges across the country have sought foundation participants and board members from their communities to give leadership to developing the resources needed to help the colleges achieve their missions.
By now it is clear to most informed individuals that although Columbia College may be seen as a state supported institution, it is clear that it is partially, not fully supported. Much more needs to be accomplished, and funds need to be raised for many projects including, but not limited to, scholarships, educational supplies, equipment, and facilities. This is where the dedicated efforts of philanthropic volunteers come in as supporters and participants in the Columbia College Foundation.
I stand ready to assist and encourage the further development of the foundation over the coming year. More members of the communities served by the college are needed and invited to come forward to volunteer to assist this visionary group of citizens in giving leadership to the betterment of the college.
Richard Jones, Ed.D.
Interim President
