Columbia College’s Symphony of the Sierra Presents Spring Concert on April 28th

The Columbia College Symphony of the Sierra will perform its spring 2012 concert on Saturday, April 28, 2012 at 3:00 p.m. in the Dogwood Forum Building on the Columbia College campus. The admission is free. Doors open at 2:30 p.m.

Conductor, Mic Harper is excited to feature violinist, David McCarroll, as soloist for the first movement of the delightful Mozart Violin Concerto in D Major. Mr. McCarroll is very active in the local music community, playing with several ensembles, as well as with the Symphony of the Sierras

The duet, Angels’ Tears, for euphonium and trombone composed by Columbia College music major Danielle DiBartolomeo, will be performed by DiBartolomeo and Jacob Holman. Columbia College pianist, Isaiah Spratt, is kindly providing pre-concert incidental music.

Saturday’s program will include the first movement of Haydn’s London Trio #1, Holesovsky’s Prologue, Hymn and Dance, Bruckner’s March in d minor, Selections from Dvorak’s American Suite, and Gliere’s Russian Sailors’ Dance from the opera, “The Red Poppy.
