Columbia College Men’s Basketball Coach Nathan Rien, along with staff and members of the Men’s Basketball squad, will conduct the 10th Annual Basketball Academy for boys and girls in grades 3-10. The academy will run two times in summer 2012. These clinics will include individual instruction on the fundamentals of basketball, as well as valuable game experience for each participant. The first camp is scheduled for June 4-6, 2012 and the second camp is scheduled for July 10-12, 2012, both will be held in the Oak Pavilion. The cost is $50 per camper.
In addition to the camps, Columbia College Community Education will open the Oak Pavilion and provide local youth and adults the opportunity to hone their basketball skills through a fun and competitive recreational program. The cost is $30 for the semester and will run on a number of Sundays throughout May, June, July and August, from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Each participant must promote the spirit of fair play and sportsmanship, while also working diligently to ensure a high level of respect and enthusiasm for the game of basketball. Participants must also wear athletic shoes and bring their own basketball.
