Developing Your AA-T/AS-T

  Process   Involved                   Notes
1. Start with a California Community Colleges Board of Governors approved Transfer Model Curriculum shown through the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office website maintaining the information for the Student Transfer Achievement Reform Act (SB
1440)

2. Proposing new Associate in Arts for Transfer (AA-T) and Associate in Science for Transfer (AS-T) degree requires the approved TMC template specific to each area to be attached to a college’s proposal. Open the appropriate template and match local courses in the template against the course titles in the TMC.
  • Full Time Faculty
  • Articulation Officer
Templates have been started with courses listed as best matches to serve as a starting point.
They can be found on the Curriculum TMC tracking
web page
.

3. With matches made, carefully read course descriptors for the C-ID designation in the template to compare with course outlines of record (COR) for the potential local courses.

  • Complete the TMC template for courses deemed equivalent to the C-ID designation.
  • Note C-ID designations for courses needed and not offered for future curriculum development.
  • Note curriculum modifications needed to local courses.
  • Full Time Faculty

4. Submit courses for C-ID approval

  • Full Time Faculty
  • Articulation Officer
The Articulation Officer submits COR along with the course to the C-ID website for approval as equivalent to the C-ID designated course.

5. Complete any course modifications
requested by or needed for C-ID approval.
  • Full Time Faculty
  • Articulation Officer
  • Curriculum Committee

6. Begin required proposal for submission to state

  • Create CurricUNET proposal for TMC degree
  • Remaining paperwork required for submission
  • Full Time Faculty
  • Student Learning Division
  • Curriculum Committee
Unless the AA-T/AS-T already exist for Program Modification in CurricUNET, under Build-Degrees\Certificates, create a New Program. Headings should be similar to the TMC and the course listings must match those in the completed template.
