Email Management

This is a tip to assist you with storing and saving your Emails on your local hard drive where you won’t be restricted to size limitations. You will be able to move your Email to Outlook's personal storage files called PSTs. (Personal Store files) Before performing these steps be aware that the Email saved in a "Personal Folder File" will be saved on your local drive and will be subject to the same fate if your system crashes as your other saved files would be. Messages filed in the "Personal Folder" are not accessible from the Email server. They are on your own computer, and if you go to another computer, you can't read them. For those of you who archive your Email files you can still use your Archive folder in addition to creating a PST.

Step 1 - In your MS Outlook go to Tools>Options>Mail Set-up

If you look in your left hand panel, in Mail Folders you will see a folder called "Personal Folders". You can create sub-folders in the "Personal Folders" and then drag your Emails into these sub-folders, storing them on your local drive. When you are confident they are there, than you can delete them from your Inbox.
