Columbia College professor recognized by American Anthropological Association

Dr. Paula K. Clarke will be recognized by the American Anthropological Association (AAA) at their annual meeting on Nov. 19-23 at the San Francisco Hilton and Towers. She will receive the AAA/Oxford Award for Excellence in Undergraduate Teaching of Anthropology.

This award, which was established in 1997, is given annually to honor an AAA member’s outstanding contribution to the undergraduate teaching of anthropology and contributing significantly to this field of study. The national organization was founded in 1902.

A Columbia College faculty member since 1999, Dr. Clarke holds a bachelor’s degree from the University of California, Berkeley and a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. She currently teaches courses in anthropology and sociology at the college.
